He tries to stop Bond's interference at first with a tarantula, then an attempted assassination where his six shot Smith and Wesson just isn't enough.

Personality

Dent was Dr No's personal spy, informer, assassin and protector of his boss, he did jobs for Dr No including investigations, murders and research. Dent was an experienced geologist, and had many people fooled as to his true identity, Strangways's murder was committed by the Three Blind Assassins under Dent's order in regards to gathering rock sample's of Crab Key. Bond suspected Dent of foul play when he lied about some soil samples, Dent tried to assassinate Bond three times, firstly by placing a deadly spider in Bond's bed, Bond however took care of it. Secondly Bond was lured to Miss Taro's house where the Three Blind Assassins pursued Bond in his car, eventually sending their hearse over a cliff. Finally Dent did himself in by trying to personally assassinate Bond, however after using all his bullets was shot by Bond.
