A former head of SMERSH, Rosa Klebb defected from the Russian secret service to join SPECTRE as their number 3. Her mission was to entice Bond into a trap, using as bait a Lektor decoder and a beautiful Russian cypher clerk. A stern, resourceful woman, in From Russia With Love, Klebb was tough and efficient, but still had her kicks.

Personality

Despite Klebb's small and short build, she had an authoritative and domineering look. Kleb was brutal and sadistic, taking pleasure in taunting and threatening people as was displayed in her interview with Tatiana Romanova. Klebb being a double agent with SPECTRE, was originally a member of SMERSH, she obviously managed assassination and tortures.

Involvement

Rosa Klebb was recruited from SMERSH by SPECTRE as she was an experienced and high-ranking member of SMERSH's assassination and torture department. Klebb recruited Tatiana Romanova as bait to seduce Bond, Tatiana believing that Klebb was giving orders from SMERSH to give false information to the enemy. Klebb personally evaluated Donald "Red" Grant to assassinate Bond, Grant proved to be an efficient killer. Later in the mission Klebb was given a last chance by Blofeld to kill Bond, she tried to carry out the orders in Bond's hotel in Venice, however she was shot by Tatiana as she discovered Klebb's true identity.
