British actors Clive Owen and Daniel Craig are locked in a head-to-head battle to win a licence to make a killing – as the new James Bond - reports
The Sun (UK).
Clive Owen became favourite for the role after winning a Golden Globe and BAFTA for best supporting actor in his latest film "Closer". He may scoop a hat trick if he converts his Oscar nomination into a win on Sunday.
Daniel Craig was rumoured as a potential 007 after his stunning performance in "Layer Cake" - directed by Matthew Vaughn, who admitted to
turning down the director's job on Bond 21 after the film was delayed a year.
Above: The Sun says Owen and Craig are head-to-head in a battle for the role.
The paper goes on, "A host of stars including Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor had been touted as the next 007. But now film executives have narrowed the search for the suave secret agent’s latest incarnation to the handsome Brits."
