John `Q` Cleese not happy with treatment from Bond producers
Casino Royale - 12-06-06

Veteran British actor John Cleese has hit out at the producers of the James Bond movie franchise, insisting his sudden "dumping" from the series was rude - reports Contact Music.

Cleese, who played gadgets geek Q in "Die Another Day", had desperately hoped to reprise the much-loved role in forthcoming movie Casino Royale.

But the 66-year-old was "mysteriously "axed from the project without being warned or consulted (Editors note: there is no 'Q' role in the original Ian Fleming novel, producers have previously commented on the lack of Q and Moneypenny).

Cleese said, "Q doesn't appear in Casino Royale but it would have been nice if the producers had the courtesy to telephone me."
