Roger Michell drops out of 22nd James Bond film, will no longer direct Craig`s second 007 outing

Helmer Roger Michell has walked away from production of the 22nd James Bond film according to Variety.

Michell was reported to be in negotiations to direct the film to follow "Casino Royale" (released in November) starring Daniel Craig in his second 007 film.

Variety reports that Michell has ended his relationship with the film following "creative differences" with producers.

Eon Productions officially announced Bond 22 on July 20th.

Despite this set back, Bond 22 is still on schedule for release in May 2008 according to reports.

The Hollywood Reporter announced Michell was in negotiations back in July this year. Michell and Daniel Craig are no strangers, having teamed on the 2004 drama "Enduring Love." Michell's helming credits also include the Ben Affleck-Samuel L. Jackson vehicle "Changing Lanes" and the Julia Roberts-Hugh Grant romantic comedy hit "Notting Hill."
