Bollywood actress rumours resurface, this time for Bond 22

Those fans who closely tracked the early days of 'Bond 21', which would later become Casino Royale, will no doubt recall the casting call made to Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai. Fate intervened however, as the actress suffered a minor injury and missed the appointment, and a script was reportedly not ready either.

Fast forward a few years, and the rumours are resurfacing that the next James Bond adventure may feature a Bollywood actress.

According to The Times of India, Shilpa Shetty, with her newly found stardom, post the Big Brother episode, seems all set to make her presence felt in Hollywood.

Speculations are rife that the lady is considered for the role of a Bond Girl opposite none other than Daniel Craig in the forthcoming Bond 22 movie slated to be released next year.

Rumours about Aishwarya Bachchan [Rai] featuring in such a flick were also doing the rounds.

Trade pundit Taran Adarsh avers, “It would indeed be a great idea to have an Indian actress playing the role of a Bond Girl. They have those glamorous international looks teamed with a stunning figure. So what else can one actually ask for? In my opinion, Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Bachchan and Shilpa Shetty can carry off the role quite nicely.”
