UK company Carphone Warehose has sponsored a one-man show which hits the Edinburgh Fringe today — starring one of the founders of the QVC Shopping Channel.
Paul Lavers stars as David Niven, below, in 7 Spies At The Casino — a one-man show about the 1967 James Bond spoof film Casino Royale. Producer Rick Wray said: “Paul is perfect to play David Niven.”
Event: 7 Spies At The Casino
Venue: Big Belly @ Smirnoff Underbelly, Edinburgh, Scotland
Date: 2nd to 26th August 2007
Time: 21:40 - 22:40
Join David Niven for a wry and witty look at the making of James Bond's forgotten sex comedy and 1967 spy spoof, Casino Royale.
Includes killer robot grouse, Woody Allen, scantily-clad lovelies and performing seals, not to mention five directors, eight writers and a budget that kept London running for a year.
The remarkable true story of how the eventual star of the film wrestled comedy from the jaws of cock-up, becoming the only Bond nobody remembers. The perfect Fringe nightcap.
Tickets start at £5.00 and can be booked
online.
