Office bound and signed off through injury, James
Bond is at his wits end. When he is called to M's
office he is determined to prove his fitness, certain
that a challenging assignment lies ahead. But his
initial hopes are soon dashed when he is assigned
to accompany an oil billionaire's daughter from
Japan to Russia, traveling across the expanse of
Russia on the Trans-Siberian Express.
The daughter, Yakama, is as cold as the weather
and the journey is as mind numbing as his office
work. That is until she is kidnapped from the compartment
they share. Bond is only too aware that his distraction,
through an inactive mind, may have caused him to
fail in the most basic of assignments.
Extract
From the entrance Bond peered carefully out into
the street. A large black Mercedes sat idling. The
two men walked with Yakama, opened the rear door
and followed her in. The car then pulled away slowly.
Within an instance Bond was sprinting to the alley
where the motorbike was waiting.

About The Author
Martin Bickley has been a James Bond fan since
watching the Bond films on television as a child.
He grew up in the Moore era and subsequently the
early films he saw, such as The Spy Who Loved Me
and Moonraker remain sentimental favorites.
He spends much of his time reading a variety of
fiction and is gradually working his way through
the James Bond novels, both Fleming's and the continuation
novels. He also enjoys reading other fan fiction
works, specifically in the Bond domain. His favorite
James Bond novel, so far, is Moonraker.
He hopes, one day, to write a full novel and has
found that writing James Bond fan fiction has enabled
him to concentrate on his ideas and writing style
since the character is already so well defined.
