Just as James Bond is approaching mandatory retirement
age, a devastating illness forces M to appoint him
head of MI6. In the following weeks, Bond has to
replace Bill Tanner as Chief of Staff after he suffers
a heart attack, promoting Jane Moneypenny as his
Chief of Staff.
Bored with lack of real field work, Bond begins
to resent taking this assignment, until a fanatical
person with links to his past surfaces and launches
a deadly attack against the Prime Minister and members
of the Royal family.

Bonds thoughts were interrupted by M's voice,
always strong and straight forward, but this time
filled with fear and emotion. Bond looked at her
and noticed she also had tears in her eyes. “James”
she began “I have breast cancer”.

James F. Lipsey lives in Louisville Kentucky.
He has been a Bond fan for years after seeing the
film “Goldfinger” during its original
release. He is married with four grown children
and one grandchild. He serves in his home church
as an Elder and Clerk of Session. This is his first
attempt at Fan Fiction.
He has enjoyed all the actors who have portrayed
Bond over the years, and is looking forward to seeing
Daniel Craig in Casino Royale later this
