While on routine patrol HMS Vanguard rediscovers
a deadly cargo. Commander Dexter Seaton argues to
bring it aboard. When the Admiralty order Vanguard
to stay clear, Dex, consumed with greed, takes matters
into his own hands and murders the Captain. So begins
a wave of murders and betrayals that finally alerts
Her Majesty's Secret Service. But what is the cargo
- and why have so few of the original crew survived?
James Bond's mission to Faslane Base holds one
of his toughest cases yet. On top of it M has mysteriously
been taken off active service, only to be replaced
by a close rival, Sir Leonard Pettigrew. Needless
to say when Bond leaves for Scotland the reputation
of the service and Britain's nuclear deterrent are
in the balance.

Having taken several hard body punches Henderson
suddenly tore away his blood soaked vest and flung
it at Bond. "Failure is not an option Mr. Bond!"
Dodging out of the way Bond realised the PTI was
now quite berserk with rage, but in a deft move
managed to catch him with a hard punch to the temple.
