Biography
Maryam D'Abo was born of a Georgian mother and a Dutch father
in London. The cousin of Olivia (who calls her 'grandma'!), Maryam
was raised in Paris and Geneva and returned to London in 1980
to attend drama school. Her first film appearance came the same
year (in an off the wall sci-fi chiller called Xtro), after which
work came steadily. In 1985, she appeared in the Oscar winning
Out Of Africa, along with roles in White Nights and a couple of
TV appearances. Perhaps her most famous part so far is Bond girl
Kara Milovy in 1987's The Living Daylights.
Although she has continuously worked in movies since, there is
little in her resume since her Bond girl appearance that stands
out. Typically starring in erotic thrillers such as Dangerous
Desires (1993) and Double Obsession (1994), Maryam seems to find
it hard to come across good roles. However, when she does, she
makes the most of them, as shown by her performance in 1992's
Leon the Pig Farmer.
Maryam looks a little bit like Olivia and they are commonly mistaken
for each other. It's believed she left the USA after witnessing
a drive by shooting and now lives near London, England.
