Biography
Born Eunice Sargaison in Purley, Surrey, England, Eunice Gayson
started her big screen acting career at the age 17, playing a
young girl in My Brother Jonathan in 1948. She appeared in numerous
British films in the 1950s, including Carry On Admiral (1957)
and the Hammer Horror classic The Revenge of Frankenstein in 1958.
Perhaps her best remembered role is as Sylvia Trench in the first
James Bond film Dr. No in 1962 , where she appeared in Connery's
opening scene. Her character, Sylvia Trench, gives 007 the opportunity
to introduce himself as "Bond, James Bond" for the first
time in screen history. She is also the first Bond girl to make
a return in the Bond films, making a brief reappearance in From
Russia With Love. She has recently played Little Red Hood's grandmother
in a London Production of the musical Into The Woods, which opened
September 25, 1990 at the Phoenix Theatre, London.
